Now open for submissions - Review of Residential Tenancies Act 1994
The Minister for Public Works, Housing and Racing, Hon. Robert Schwarten, announced the commencement of a review of the Residential Tenancies Act 1994 in Parliament on Wednesday 15 February.
Mr Schwarten said the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) would conduct a comprehensive review to ensure that Queensland tenancy laws remain relevant and effective.
"The first step will be to give the public the opportunity to have their say," he said.
"We are interested in hearing whether people believe that the Act is achieving its intended objectives of balancing the rights and responsibilities of lessors and tenants."
"We also want to know whether there are serious problems that need to be addressed."
Calls for submissions close Friday 28 April 2006.
